A repeat client from Freeland recently contacted Westminster Speed and Sound to schedule their annual ceramic coating maintenance and asked about a speeding ticket prevention solution. After consulting with the owner about where and how they drive, we devised a solution based on the ESCORT MAXCAM. Let’s look at the work we’ve done to this vehicle.
Premium Paint and Vehicle Interior Protection
As mentioned, the Cayman was back for its annual ceramic coating maintenance. We previously installed 3M paint protection film to help guard against scuffs and chips from gravel and other debris on the road. We treated the vehicle with a ceramic coating to keep the film looking great. This extra layer of protection increases the film’s hydrophobic properties, allowing water to bead up and carry dirt and debris off the paint.
We’ve also installed 3M ceramic window tint on the Cayman. Ceramic films block more heat energy than metalized or dyed films. Further, they don’t affect cellphone performance like metalized films. All of our films block at least 99% of UV rays, which helps prevent the vehicle interior from fading.
Radar Detector with Dash Camera
After talking to the client about the goals for the radar detector, we suggested the new ESCORT MAXCAM 360c. This device includes a high-performance radar detector with MRCT and MRCD detection. Further, it features excellent side and rear detection. Finally, it has an integrated QHD Sony Starvis imaging sensor and parking mode to capture video of everything that happens in front of the vehicle.
We paired the MAXCAM 360c with an ESCORT ZR laser shifter system for additional protection when the loud pedal is pressed for too long. A Blendmount bracket specific to the Cayman locates the MAXCAM 360c under the rearview mirror. This location offers exceptional radar sensitivity. We mounted the control panel for the laser shifter system just to the right of the steering column.
Laser Shifter Installation
To provide the best possible protection, we installed three laser shifters on the front of the Porsche Cayman. One shifter is located in each of the side air vents, just below the turn signals. A third sensor is located in the front air dam, directly in the vehicle’s center. All sensors are painstakingly aligned to ensure maximum sensitivity and broadcast range. We complete every installation by testing the system with our police radar and lidar guns.
Complete Vehicle Protection Package
It took a few days to complete the MAXCAM 360c and ZR laser shifter installation and perform the ceramic coating maintenance. When the client returned to pick up the vehicle, a team member provided a detailed explanation of how to benefit most from the ESCORT radar and laser shifter system. The owner was thrilled with the upgrades and excited to get the Porsche back on the road.
