A repeat client from Mount Airy, Maryland, came to WSS Westminster Speed & Sound, looking to add a backup camera to his 2008 Ford F250 truck. After spending time going over options for his vehicle, he decided on the rear view mirror display option for viewing the camera. Under normal conditions, the mirror looks like a completely normal mirror. When you put the vehicle in reverse, the 4.3″ LCD monitor turns on, giving you a great view behind the truck.
For the camera, we chose a model that mounts on top of the rear license plate, centered on the vehicle. We like this location because it still gives a good view even if the tailgate is left down to hold larger cargo.
