Product Spotlight: JBL Fuse Car Audio Subwoofer

February 2, 2022 By staff Leave a Comment

JBL Fuse SubwooferThe product development team at JBL never rests. One of their latest creations is the JBL Fuse subwoofer enclosure. This passive subwoofer includes a pair of shallow 8-inch drivers and matching tuned passive radiators. While this sounds great, the Fuse has a few more tricks up its proverbial sleeve.

JBL Fuse Subwoofer Installation Options

JBL Fuse SubwooferIf you have an SUV, sedan or coupe, we can use the integrated mounting feet to install the Fuse in the back of your vehicle using the included mounting bracket. The subwoofers and passive radiators face outward to deliver great bass from a package that’s only 13.75 inches deep, 10.75 inches tall and 7.75 inches thick. Don’t underestimate passive radiator subwoofer systems. They deliver the output of a vented enclosure while requiring very little internal air volume. In the Fuse, you’re getting the bass of two 8-inch subs in a design that would typically work with one. We love those JBL engineers.

If you have an application like a pickup truck or two-seater where space is at a premium, the Fuse can be disassembled into two separate enclosures to fit in spaces that are as thin as 2.75 inches. With the mounting feet removed, their height is 10.5 inches. We can mount the enclosure against the side wall of an SUV for an ultra-low-profile bass upgrade solution that sounds amazing.

JBL Fuse Car Audio Subwoofer Specifications

JBL rates the Fuse subwoofer system as able to handle a combined 200 watts of power continuously and 600 watts of peak power. The drivers have a nominal impedance of 4 ohms each and present a 2-ohm load to the amp of your choice. We can help you choose a suitable amplifier solution for your application.
