A client from Sykesville, Maryland, came to Westminster Speed & Sound, looking to add modern technology to his 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. This is a common request among our clients. They have a vehicle that runs great and is a joy to own, but lacks the technology common in newer vehicles. The good news is that we can solve this dilemma for almost every vehicle on the road.
In this Ford, we started by installing a turn-by-turn navigation system in the dash. That also gave the client Bluetooth for hands-free calling and wireless music streaming, along with a USB port to control his external media.
We mounted a backup camera in the rear of the vehicle at the top of the license plate, giving the driver a clear view of everything behind him. If you have ever driven a pickup, you know it can be difficult at times to judge how close your bumper is to another object.
When the client came to pick up his truck, he loved the new upgrades and appreciated the fit and finish of the installation – and that made our day.
