A client from Sykesville, Maryland, came to Westminster Speed with his 2010 Nissan Altima, looking for some help with his headlights. He had another shop install replacement HID low-beam bulbs in his vehicle and they never worked properly. He had heard good things about us, and we felt bad about someone taking advantage of him. We looked over the current HID kit and the installation, and realized we needed to start from scratch to give this client a reliable solution.
We installed RaceSport’s G4 HID kit, which is their best-performing, most-reliable system. To be blunt, the vast majority of HID kits on the market are junk and should never be used on a vehicle because their reliability is so suspect. The G4 system costs more, but the quality is all there.
The client chose to convert his low-beam bulbs to HID and swap out the high-beam bulbs for PIAA Extreme White units. The PIAA models are the best-performing halogen bulbs on the market. He also wanted to have a color that is more like natural sunlight, with a greater total light output.
When the client came to pick up his vehicle, he was impressed with how clean the installation looked. And, of course, he loved that his headlights worked normally again!
