A client from Owings Mills contacted us here at Westminster Speed and Sound about adding a backup camera system to his 2009 Jeep Wrangler. While the client was in our store, we mentioned that many customers had us install upgraded headlights in their Jeeps. He was intrigued by the idea and after some more discussion, opted to do both upgrades.
On the day of the scheduled appointment, our installer began with a new rearview mirror that has an embedded 4.3″ LCD monitor. Under normal use, it looks like a stock mirror, but when the Jeep is put into reverse, the monitor comes alive and displays the image from the backup camera. The camera itself is a unique design that fits inside the spare tire and peeks out from one of the wheel openings. Most people won’t ever know a camera is even installed.
