Here at WSS Westminster Speed & Sound, we installed our first automotive security system in September 1990, so we’ve been involved in this category for a long time. A lot has changed over the decades. Most vehicles now come with a factory-installed security system. While these systems are definitely better than nothing, they aren’t in the same league as a
high-quality aftermarket security system.
Aftermarket Security Systems Offer Better Protection
Our aftermarket security systems offer several sensor options designed to detect tampering with your vehicle. One of the most popular sensors can even detect the vehicle being lifted as little as 3 degrees. This is especially helpful in preventing someone from stealing your wheels or towing the car, as it will trigger the alarm and alert you to a problem. Our sensors also detect impacts, so a shopping cart or vehicle bump will trigger the alarm. Finally, glass breakage or vehicle motion is also monitored.

Speaking of alerts, we offer two-way systems where the hardware in the vehicle communicates bidirectionally with the remote control fob on your keychain. The remote confirms any command you send with a beep and information on an LCD screen or by flashing an LED. If someone tampers with the vehicle and triggers the alarm, the remote will notify you.

We also offer systems that integrate with your Android or iPhone through an app, alerting you of any tampering. Additionally, this hardware allows you to locate your vehicle using integrated GPS-based positioning. You can arm and disarm the system or even pop the trunk through the app. If someone manages to steal your vehicle by towing it away, you can track its location so authorities can recover it.
Remote start is a popular option for many vehicles. If your car, truck, or SUV has a factory-installed remote starter and you add an aftermarket alarm, the system will trigger when you remote start the vehicle. The good news is that we can usually integrate an aftermarket remote starter that works seamlessly with the security system.
Security Options
GPS tracking can be installed as a stand-alone system or added to one of our security solutions. It uses our DroneMobile LTE-based controller to provide GPS tracking and remote control of the alarm and/or remote starter we installed for you.
