The owner of this immaculate 2020 Ford F-150 FX4 recently visited Westminster Speed and Sound to inquire about adding a few accessories to the truck. He was interested in a high-performance window tint, a set of mud flaps, a truck bed liner and cover, and paint protection film. One of our Product Specialists inspected the vehicle to confirm sizes and applications, then worked with the client to choose solutions that met his functionality and styling expectations. With a plan in place, we scheduled an appointment for our technicians to begin the installation process.
3M Ceramic IR Window Tint and Paint Film
The new Ceramic IR window tint from 3M offers an excellent blend of heat rejection and UV protection at an affordable price. Our technicians cut the tint for the F-150 using our computer-controlled plotter to ensure that we wouldn’t have to use a knife on the glass or near the trim. We installed 25% film on the driver and passenger windows and added 70% film to the rear doors and back window to improve heat rejection.
Next, we cut 3M Scotchgard Pro Series 4.0 film for the hood, front fenders, the front bumper, the headlights and the rocker panels all the way back to the rear of the vehicle. After prepping the surfaces to be sure they were free of contaminants, our team installed the film, making sure all the edges were aligned perfectly. Once the film was in place, we added a set of WeatherTech MudFlaps behind both sets of wheels.
Retrax Pro Bed Cover and Carpet Bed Liner
The client wanted a carpet bed liner to protect the bed of the truck. He had purchased the Ford BoxLink system, and the bed has built-in lighting. Our technicians modified a BedRug liner to work with these accessories before putting it in place.
To top off the bed, we added a Retrax Pro MX retractable bed cover. The Retrax Pro offers excellent protection against the elements while securing any cargo, tools or personal belongings in the vehicle. Unlike a soft vinyl or cloth cover, thieves can’t cut through the Retrax with a pocket knife. The cover rolls up into a compact container at the back of the bed to make loading and unloading easy.
