A client from Hanover, Pennsylvania, contacted Westminster Speed and Sound about upgrading the technology in their 2010 Toyota Venza. As you know, a vehicle like this can last a very long time, but unfortunately, technology can leave it behind. Fortunately, we are experts in bringing vehicles up to modern standards.
In this instance, we got together with the client to look over the Venza and explore upgrades that would be the best solution for their needs. After showing them product in our interactive sound room, the Sony XAV-AX100 was the logical choice for a replacement unit. It combines Apple CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto, allowing iPhone and Android users a safe way to harness the power of a smartphone while driving. It also includes Bluetooth, a USB port and the option of having an onboard navigation brain. The client liked our idea, so we set a time to begin working on the Toyota.
As you can see in the pictures, the Sony unit looks like a factory-installed option. We flush-mounted the USB port into a convenient spot and added a backup camera, making it easy for the client to navigate a tight parking spot. We also integrated the steering wheel-mounted audio controls to work with the new stereo system in the dash.
When the client came to pick up their Venza, one of our staff went out to the vehicle and went over the operation of the unit with them. This is standard practice for all our work because we want our clients to feel comfortable using the new equipment that we install.
