A client with a 2004 Super Duty Ford F-350 stopped by Westminster Speed and Sound, looking to upgrade the technology in his truck. After spending time with him and looking over his vehicle, our team suggested the Alpine iLX-F259 unit. It combines a 9″ touchscreen, CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB port, and the capability to add a backup camera. He liked our idea, so we set a time to begin the work.
As you can see in the pictures, the Alpine unit gives the driver a big, beautiful display that is easy to operate. We integrated his existing backup camera into the new unit as well. We flushed the USB port into the dash right beside the 12 volt socket, making for a factory appearance.
During our conversations with the client, the subject of fuel economy and power came up, so we suggested adding a Superchips 1845 programmer. This unit wakes up a Powerstroke diesel, and the benefits far outweigh the modest cost.
When the client came to pick up his Super Duty, one of our staff went out to the vehicle with him and reviewed the operation of his new stereo system. The client loved the big display, marveling at how easy it was going to be to use while driving.
