In this article we will focus on the rest of the upgrades we have done to this vehicle. In choosing these upgrades we were looking for a platform to show our most popular items that we sell. In typical WSS style we outfitted it with ALL of the popular items we sell on a daily basis. Let’s explore this beautiful truck.
Compustar Security and Remote Starter
We started with a high quality alarm/remote start system. Anytime you put money into upgrading a vehicle we are big fans of adding an alarm system so you can be alerted if someone is messing with your baby. In this case we added a Compustar 2W901-SS alarm system that comes with a remote control that has two-way communication between the truck and the remote control. This remote has the longest range on the market and comes with an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery. A Drone system was also added to allow system control and alerting to a Smartphone. Remote starting capability was added to the system to keep us warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Window Tint Makes This Silverado Look Hot / Stay Cool
Dark Matter window tint was added to all of the side and rear windows in the truck to dramatically reduce heat, glare, and the harmful UV rays of the sun. We added a clear film to the windshield to accomplish the same thing. As you can see from the pictures it also dramatically increased the visual appeal of the truck. We are Maryland’s exclusive dealer for Dark Matter window film.
Many Silverado Performance Upgrades
A Fabtech 4” suspension lift was installed on the truck along with a 20” wheel and tire package to set off the exterior look of the truck. Bushwacker fender flares were painted and installed to help protect the exterior body. Amp Research motorized steps were added to allow easier entry and exit, and boy are they great! They are lighted so they illuminate around the step area at night.
Another Amp Research product, the BedStep, was added to the driver’s side of the rear bumper area to allow easy entry into the bed of the truck when the tailgate is down. This is truly another one of those “how did I ever live without one?” kind of product. In the bed we added a BedRug to protect the inside of the bed and to keep things from moving around. It also makes it much more comfortable to use the bed as a sitting area. UnderCover makes both the Flex Cover tri folding bed cover and the SwingCase toolbox in the side rear of the bed. Both of these items make the truck much more secure and increase the versatility.
Even more Silverado Performance Upgrades
We wanted to improve the sound and the power of the truck so a Gibson stainless steel dual extreme exhaust system was added. What we like best about these systems is that they allow you to hear the great sounding V8 but do not have the annoying drone as you are driving down the highway. Think of it as having your cake and eating it too. A BullyDog air intake system and GT Tuner were added to increase the fuel efficiency and power. We made a custom mount for the tuner and were able to mount it in a closable pocket in the lower dash of the truck. Airaid makes the highest quality throttle body spacers and we installed one of them to increase low-end torque and improve fuel efficiency.
Finished Product Is A Delight To The Eyes and Ears
When we sat back and looked at the finished package we were very pleased. It is a blast to drive and the added goodies only increased its usefulness as a truck. People have loved the way it looks and have used it for ideas to personalize their truck to their own unique tastes.
