A client from the Baltimore area contacted us about adding some protection to the exterior of his 2023 Mercedes CLA. One of our team members spent some time discussing ideas, and in the end, it was decided to apply paint protection film along with a ceramic paint coating.
3M paint protection film has been around since 1966 and is the best way to help preserve your paint’s finish against rock and stone chips, swirl marks, and scratches. It is a clear urethane that is 8 mils thick and virtually invisible once installed. This car got the front bumper, full hood, front fenders, and leading edge of the side mirrors protected. Before the film was installed, our team corrected the paint to remove any swirl marks and minor imperfections.
Next up was the ceramic paint coating. What it brings to the table is a finish that lasts for years instead of months and is highly hydrophobic. What that means is the end result is super slippery, so dirt doesn’t stick to it anywhere as easily. It is common to wash your vehicle around 1/3 as often. In the photos, you can see the film as it is being installed and final pictures of the work after completion.
