First things first: The radio in the dash was now 13 years old and in need of a serious upgrade. Our team began by installing a Pioneer AVH-4200NEX model in the dash. That instantly gave our client a combination of Apple CarPlay and Google’s Android Auto, the safest way to harness the power of a smartphone while driving. The driver can now easily make a call, send a text, use the navigation, listen to music or set a reminder almost exclusively via voice control. He also gained Bluetooth for hands-free calling and music streaming as well as HD Radio.
Adding SiriusXM after Our Consultation
During our consultation, the option of adding satellite radio came up. We explained that we had a place where the antenna could be completely hidden but still get great reception. He liked our idea, so we added an SXV-300 SiriusXM tuner to the Pioneer unit.
Backup Camera Eliminates the Big Blind Spot
Even though this 911 Turbo is a Cabrio, it has a huge blind spot when trying to see behind you. In this vehicle our team installed one of our low-light cameras that gets centered above the rear license plate. All you can see is the compact camera, so it becomes almost invisible to the naked eye. We take special care when routing the wiring since we have to go through the engine compartment and rear suspension area.
Factory Fit and Finish is Our Specialty
Our client found us by searching for 911 upgrades on the Internet and came across several of our build posts about vehicles similar to his own. Our specialty is designing and installing equipment that will look like Porsche added it as a factory option. We soldered all connections and apply protective heat shrink plus neatly loomed and secure all wiring for easy servicing in the future.
