Paint Protection Film for Finksburg Chevy Corvette

The owner of this awesome Sebring Orange 2018 Chevrolet Corvette came from Finksburg to Westminster Speed and Sound to inquire about a paint protection film package for his sports car. The client wanted to ensure that the vehicle would continue to look pristine as he racked up miles and miles of smiles. We inspected the vehicle and discussed how our 3M Scotchgard Pro Series 4.0 protection film would prevent chips, stains and scratches on susceptible paint surfaces. The client chose a very complete protection package and scheduled an appointment for our expert technicians to begin work on the car.

Corvette Paint Protection Package

We started the installation by giving the vehicle a thorough wash to remove dust and debris from the paint. Any panels that showed signs of contamination were rubbed down with an automotive clay bar, which removes rail dust, brake dust or fallout embedded in the paint and leaves a smooth surface. Next, we removed the factory-installed protective film from the rocker panels and wiped them clean with an adhesive remover. The last preparation step was for us to wipe down any panels that would be receiving film with an oil and wax remover to ensure that the film would adhere perfectly.

Clear Bra Installation Process

The hood was wrapped with one large sheet of film.

Opening the hood gave us access to wrap the film around the edges.

The film is installed while wet, to allow precision placement.

With the application of film on the rear spoiler, the job was complete.

With the film cut for each panel, we set to work protecting the hood, front bumper, front fenders and side-view mirror covers. 3M designs impressive flexibility into the film so we can wrap it into the deeply recessed vents in the front fenders and around the front bumper cover without any problem. Next, we applied film to the entire rocker panels, extending it up to the body line on the door. We also applied film to the rear bumper just behind the massive rear tires, an area susceptible to damage from stones or gravel thrown up by the sticky Michelins. The last step was to install film on the spoiler on the rear deck of this Stingray.

After taking the Corvette outside and confirming that the film installation was flawless, we called the client to let him know that he could pick up his vehicle.
