A client from Dundalk brought his 2014 Porsche Cayman S to Westminster Speed and Sound for an audio system upgrade and to have our detailing experts bring the paint back to life. After inspecting the vehicle, our team proposed a two-stage paint correction and protection solution and an audio and safety upgrade package that would breathe new life into this fantastic car.
Porsche Paint Correction and Protection
Once our detailer saw the paint on this Cayman, he knew it would need extra correction to remove the light scratches and swirls. After polishing it to a mirror finish, he applied two coats of 3M Ceramic Coating. This coating not only brings out the deep luster of the black paint, but its hydrophobic properties make it much easier to keep the car clean. As a result, dirt and debris are much less likely to stick to the paint surface, and washing the car is easier than ever.
While the car was in our bay, we restored the headlights so they’d be bright and clear. We also protected the leather interior with ceramic leather coating.
Cayman Stereo Upgrade
The client wanted to modernize the audio system in his Cayman, so we started with a Sony XAV-AX7000 multimedia receiver. This double-DIN radio includes a high-power 45-watt-per-channel amplifier. It also offers both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. Next, we replaced the door speakers with a pair of BLAM Relax 200RS 8-inch speakers to improve the system’s clarity. Finally, we added a dual USB port to the center console to make connecting a smartphone or USB memory stick easy.
We installed an AIS lip camera just above the rear license plate to make parking and maneuvering safer. The camera image displays automatically on the radio when the vehicle is backing up. In addition, we included a quick disconnect for the camera to remain easily serviceable should the rear bumper ever need to be removed.

It took a couple of days, but after this Porsche Cayman was polished and protected and the entertainment system upgraded, it was like a new car.
