Mini Cooper Tint and Restyle Upgrades for Westminster Client

The owner of this cool 2019 Mini Clubman recently contacted the team at Westminster Speed and Sound to inquire about window tint and some restyling upgrades. The client wanted to change the look of the vehicle by removing some of the badges around the car’s exterior and having the chrome trim blacked out. After looking over the vehicle with the client, we put together a plan that would deliver the appearance he wanted. He loved the plan and scheduled an installation appointment so we could begin work.

Mini Clubman Trim Blackout Project

Our technicians worked on changing the window trim from silver to black.

The headlight beauty rings were blacked out.

The hood badge and S emblem were the only brand logos left on the car.

The door handles were modified to a black finish.

The trim around the rear lights was modified.

We started this Clubman styling upgrade by blacking out several chrome trim pieces on the car. The chrome in the grille, around the headlights, around the windows and the rear hatch were the first to go. Next, we blacked out the chrome on the door handles and the rear hatch access doors. While the results look great, this was a time-consuming process. With that said, the results are amazing and the vehicle has been totally transformed.

Mini Badge Removal

While we had the car in the shop, the client asked us to remove a few badges to clean up the look a little more. The Clubman letters on the rear doors had already been removed to install the racing stripe down the center of the vehicle. We removed the Cooper S and Mini emblem from the back doors as well as the All4 emblems from the front doors. We made sure to remove all traces of adhesive from the panels so that dust and grime wouldn’t stick to the car, revealing the former location of the badges.

Mini Cooper Window Tint

The last step was to tint the windows of this Mini Cooper with Dark Matter tint from Geoshield. Dark Matter window film blocks 99% of the UV rays from the sun to protect the driver and the interior materials. The film also blocks up to 62% of the sun’s infrared heat energy to help keep the interior of the vehicle cool on hot days.

Our tint team prepared each piece of film using our computer-controlled plotter. This process ensures that we never use a knife or razor blade on the vehicle. Cutting film on the car can leave nicks and scratches in the glass or damage the rubber and plastic trim around the windows.

With the chrome blacked out, the badges removed and the tint installed, it was time for the client to return to Westminster Speed and Sound to pick up his vehicle.
