A car dealer from Hanover came to Westminster Speed and Sound to have a backup camera integrated into their client’s 2012 Dodge Ram truck. After speaking with them and understanding how the vehicle was equipped from the factory, we suggested incorporating the camera so it displayed on the factory color screen in the dash. They liked our idea, so we set an appointment to do the work.
We chose one of our low-light cameras that mounted to the top of the rear license plate. This particular camera has excellent clarity during the day and still works well in low-light conditions at night, where most cameras fail.
One of the reasons we like this mounting location is the ability to have the tailgate down when carrying long items, yet still be able to use the camera. As you can see in the pictures, we were able to use the factory screen in the dash to display the image. The system includes multi-color parking lines to give the driver improved depth perception when backing up.
