A client from Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, came to Westminster Speed & Sound to get a GMC Sierra remote starter and SiriusXM radio for his 2003 model truck. After looking over the truck and getting to know him better, we came up with a solution that we thought best fit his needs. He liked our ideas, so we set an appointment to do the installation.
The client wanted to keep his original radio intact and have the satellite controls easy to use with his left hand. For these reasons, we installed a SiriusXM Onyx Plus unit on the top left corner of the dash. Choosing this location allowed the client great visibility, as well as easy operation with his left hand.
Now it was time to move on to the remote start. This vehicle had a previously installed unit that was having issues, so the client had it removed. Unfortunately, it was not removed properly and was begging to create problems with his Passlock theft deterrent system. Our highly skilled technicians noticed the problem, addressed it and got the system working properly. Once that was done, we installed a Compustar 1WG6 system, giving the client remote start and keyless entry.
When the client came to pick up his vehicle, we let him know about the Passlock issue in the vehicle and that we had corrected it for him. That alone gave him reassurance that we were right decision for him.
