A client came to Westminster Speed & Sound looking for a Ford Excursion radio upgrade. One of our staff looked over the truck with the client, explored options that were important to her and then did a live demonstration in our sound room. At the end of the conversation, we worked up a proposal that she liked, so we set a time to begin work on the vehicle.
Pioneer CarPlay Unit is a Great Ford Excursion Radio Upgrade
We knew after a short conversation that a stereo system that incorporated Apple’s CarPlay would be a great solution for this particular client. She liked to use many aspects of her iPhone. When we explained how the Pioneer AVH-4200NEX unit would allow her to make phone calls safely, send and receive texts, use the navigation and music, and see and set reminders, she loved it. Our installers fit the unit perfectly in the dash, making it look like it came installed from the factory. We also flush-mounted a USB port near the 12 volt power port, giving her a place to plug in her phone or thumb drive easily.
SiriusXM Adds Extra Music Choices
Many of our clients love the hundreds of channels available to them from SiriusXM. The combination of musical genres, comedy, sports, news and weather make it popular. Our technicians installed an SXV-300 satellite tuner that is directly controlled by the Pioneer unit in the dash, allowing her to save presets and see all the channel information on the vivid 7” color screen.
A Backup Camera Makes the Excursion Easier to Navigate
If you have ever driven a 2004 Excursion, you know it is a commanding vehicle with lots of room inside. It is also big, so navigating in tight parking lots takes patience. For this reason, we installed one of our backup cameras, mounting it at the top of the rear license plate. This unique design hides the bracket, only exposing the camera itself, which is less than 1” in diameter. It has a great low-light resolution, so it works well in dimly lit parking lots and has great overall clarity and resolution.
