A client came to Westminster Speed and Sound with her 2006 Dodge Ram, looking to upgrade the technology in the dash. One of our team went out to the truck, looked it over and spent time assessing the needs of the client. After that, we spent time with the client in our interactive sound room, looking at different options. She decided that having a unit with Android Auto and CarPlay capability would be the best solution. We worked up a proposal that she liked and set a time to begin working on her vehicle.
As you can see in the picture, this Ram had a Pioneer radio installed in it. The dash opening is 3″ tall and the Sony XAV-AX100 was 4″ tall, so we used a custom trim plate to finish the dash opening after we modified it to fit the new stereo system.
After we finished the installation and performed a detailed checkout procedure, it was time to give the Dodge back to the client. In our typical fashion, one of our staff went out to the vehicle to show the owner how to use all this upgraded technology.
