The Escort 9500Ci is the best custom-installed radar detector system on the market, hands down. There are so many features and benefits of this system it’s ridiculous! We will hit on many key factors in this article, but to get a full description please CLICK HERE.
The 9500Ci comes with front and rear sensors, a display and separate controller. On this customers Nissan Maxima we were able to hide the front sensors in the bumper in a way that they would still function at full potential, but they were very discrete. You will see in the photos below that the rear sensor for this kit mounts to the rear license plate, allowing us to install it without effecting the integrity of the car at all. Since there is no “cut out” or grille opening on the rear of the vehicle, this is very helpful. We mounted the controller and the display in the center console. The LED we mounted right in front of the instrument cluster. In doing the installation this way, there is nothing besides the small LED visible that will alert anyone of a custom installed radar detector. If the radar detector goes off the LED in the dash will alert the customer, as well as the speaker that we installed hidden under the dash.
There are many impressive features included in this radar detector system. One such feature is it’s GPS capabilities. Using GPS technology, the detector will alert the customer when he is approaching a red light or speed camera, as well as any known speed traps. If he were to sign up for Escort Live it would also give him access to the Escort database, which is constantly updated automatically by other Escort Live users in the area.
One issue to this particular customer was useage in the state of Virginia. He lives in West Virginia and passes over state borders frequently. Not to worry! The Escort 9500Ci will not show up on any VG2 or RDD (radar-detector-detector) devices. The unit will activate a “stealth mode” whenever it recognizes that it is being tracked. We at WSS do not support any illegal actions, but if the customer chooses he can use his radar detector with no worries of it being detected or seen.
