Complete Paint Protection Film Install for Finksburg Porsche Panamera

The owner of this immaculate 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid recently contacted Westminster Speed and Sound to schedule an appointment to have the vehicle wrapped in paint protection film. The owner knew that the black paint on his Porsche would highlight any chips or scratches. As such, he brought it directly to us after taking delivery from the dealership. After having three previous vehicles protected with paint protection film, he knew we’d take good care of his new car.

The client wanted us to protect as much of his new Porsche as was reasonably possible. After inspecting the vehicle, we suggested that the roof, which is made of glass, and the trim around the windows were the only surfaces we wouldn’t cover with 3M Scotchgard Pro Series 4.

Once we had the car in the bay, our installation technicians washed the vehicle thoroughly to remove any dust, dirt or debris from the paint. Any surfaces that weren’t perfectly smooth were treated with a clay bar. The claying process helps to ensure that the film will sit perfectly flat on the paint and won’t bubble. Finally, we used an alcohol-based wax remover and degreaser as a final prep before applying the film.

Once the sheets of film are cut on the plotter the application process begins.

We have invested in a computerized plotter and special software to cut all of our films and window tint. The software provides templates for the vehicles we work on. Using the plotter, as opposed to applying bulk pieces of film on the vehicle and cutting them to fit, eliminates the chances of nicks and scratches in the paint.

Once we had the front and rear bumpers, the hood, trunk, doors, fenders and headlights protected, our team rolled the car outside to give it a final inspection and ensure that all the slip agent had been removed from under the film and that there were no bubbles. With the car looking pristine, we called the client and let him know he could return to Westminster Speed and Sound to pick up the vehicle.
