A repeat client from Clarksville contacted the Westminster Speed and Sound team to inquire about upgrading his 2024 Porsche Panamera 4 with a radar detector and laser defense system, and a premium dash camera. We’d upgraded a previous vehicle for him, and he wanted a similar package in his new Porsche. We inspected the vehicle to determine the best locations for the laser shifters, display, and control panel, then provided the owner with a quote to integrate everything seamlessly into the vehicle.
Complete Custom Radar Detector System
The client wanted the best possible protection against speeding tickets, so we suggested the Escort Redline CI360 as the solution. The CI360 includes five laser shifters and high-performance front- and rear-mounted radar receivers to provide long-range sensitivity.
Our team took measurements of the front grille and rear hatch, then printed four custom pods for the laser shifters. We also created a custom mounting plate for a fifth shifter for the front license plate. The radar receivers are mounted to the front and rear bumper supports. They can receive signals through the plastic bumper covers, which conceal them from view. All the wiring for the shifters and antennas is routed along the same paths as the factory light and sensor wiring to ensure it’s away from sources of heat and electrical interference.
Inside the car, our team used our CNC laser to cut mounts for the control panel and the information display. The control panel is mounted to the right side of the steering column, and the display is at the top of the windshield to the left of the sensor housing. These locations make everything easy and intuitive to see and access, which is crucial for canceling the laser shifter transmission.
Thinkware Dash Camera System
The client wanted a high-performance, high-resolution dash camera system to capture video of everything that happens in front of and behind the vehicle while driving. The Thinkware U3000, with its 4K front camera and 2K rear camera, is the perfect solution for this Porsche. We mounted the cameras on the front and rear glass, ensuring they have a clear field of vision and proper alignment.
We upgraded the system with a 256-gigabyte memory card to provide as much video storage as possible.
