BMW calls their vehicles the “Ultimate Driving Machines” and Westminster Speed & Sound (WSS) thinks they nailed that tagline. If you own a BMW, you understand. Everything about the vehicle is designed with the driver in mind, providing a driving experience that is second to none. That is not to say, though, that some BMW upgrades aren’t beneficial.

Unfortunately, giving you a vehicle that rides and drives so well comes at a cost. For BMW to keep their pricing competitive with other brands, the audio systems often suffer. They also made items like backup cameras an option rather than standard equipment on 2017 and earlier models. If you are going to drive your BMW as the fine people in Germany intended, a custom-installed laser and radar detector also might be a good idea.

Concert-Realistic Sound

If you go for a similar audio upgrade, you will hear detail in the music you never heard before, and have enough power to give you concert-level sound, should you ever desire. Then you crank up the music to relive your favorite concert. Doesn’t that sound like fun?

Rear Camera Integration

We will also show you the rear camera that we added to the M 235i. The image from the camera is integrated into the OE navigation screen in the dash. Now we can back up safely with a solution that looks like a part of the car and not an afterthought.

Custom Radar/Laser System

Since we think all BMWs deserve custom-installed laser and radar detectors, we will show you how we integrated a K40 RL200i system to look like it was factory-installed. The K40 system in our M 235i includes a trio of laser Defusers in the front grille openings. It also includes a radar receiver that is hidden behind the bumper cover on the front of the vehicle.

Window Film

Window tint is a great option for BMW vehicles. We added 3M Crystalline to our M 235i in a nice light 50% shade. Even with excellent light transmission, the film blocks 99% of UV energy to protect our skin and 97% of the IR energy from the sun to keep the interior cool. Crystalline also does a great job reducing glare so driving is safer and more comfortable.

Paint Protection Film

Another upgrade we suggest for all BMW owners is paint protection film (PPF). We apply durable and transparent film right over the paint on your car or SUV to protect it from stone and gravel chips, scuffs and stains. Just as with our window tint installations, we cut all of the films we install using a computer-controlled plotter. This plotter prevents any chances of the vehicle being damaged by a knife or razor blade.

Our M 235i has been protected with 3M Scotchgard Pro Series film on the headlights, front bumper, the hood and the fenders. We also added 3M PPF to the door cups behind the handles, the rocker panels and the top of the rear bumper.
