A client from Baltimore contacted the Westminster Speed and Sound team to ask about a Corvette radar detector and laser defense solution. He knew it would take only an extra second on the gas for his Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to exceed the speed limit. We showed him the Escort Redline Ci 360c radar and laser defense system and explained how we could integrate it into his car to provide the best protection possible.
Chevrolet Corvette Radar and Laser Protection
The first order of business on installation day was to remove the front and rear bumpers from the Corvette. We mounted the radar receiver modules to the bumper support. Radar signals will pass through the plastic bumper covers with imperceptible losses, so concealing these units keeps the vehicle looking stock.
The next step was to mount the laser shifters. The Redline Ci kit includes five transceivers, but we added a sixth to improve protection. We installed two units at the outer edges of the center air intake for the radiator and two additional units in the outer air inlets in the front grille. A crucial part of the installation process is to ensure that the shifters are aligned properly to provide long-range sensitivity and coverage. Our team routed all the wiring safely into the vehicle interior to connect to the control module.
We repeated a similar process on the vehicle’s rear by mounting the radar receiver just below the rear bumper and a pair of laser shifters just above the license plate. Our team created custom brackets to secure the rear laser shifters and allow them to be aligned perfectly.
Radar Detector Display and Controller Installation
With the external components mounted and aligned, our focus turned to the vehicle’s interior. We mounted the control panel for the Redline 360 Ci to the right of the steering column. This location is well-concealed but easily accessible to make system adjustments or cancel the laser shifter signals.
A custom bracket allowed us to mount the display in the upper left corner of the windshield. It’s a location that’s out of the client’s line of sight while driving but easily visible in his peripheral vision.

With the system installed and configured, we took the vehicle for a short drive and tested the Escort Redline Ci 360c with our police radar and laser guns to ensure that it performed properly. When the client returned to Westminster Speed and Sound to pick up the car, a team member explained how to use the Corvette radar detector and laser defense system effectively. The client was very happy with the upgrade.
