A client stopped by Westminster Speed and Sound with his 2014 Mazda 6, looking to add CarPlay to his vehicle. One of our team looked over the car with the client to see how it was equipped. At that point, we spent time with the client in our interactive sound room, exploring options that would best fit his needs. In the end, we created a proposal that he liked, so we set time to begin work on the Mazda.
For this vehicle, we chose the Sony XAV-AX5000 unit. It combines a 7″ capacitive touchscreen, along with CarPlay and Android Auto functionality. In our typical fashion, we integrated the factory backup camera to display on the Sony screen and the steering wheel audio controls. A USB port was flush-mounted into a convenient spot into the center console. Should the client decide he wants to upgrade the sound system or add SiriusXM, he is now set up for those upgrades.
When the owner came to pick up his car, one of our staff sat in it with him and went over the operation of these features in detail. The client was thrilled with his new features and loved the fit and finish of our installation.
