A new client from Reisterstown with a 2007 Porsche Cayman came to us about a new radio after seeing information about our Porsche expertise on our website. He wanted to get some new technology in the vehicle and upgrade the sound system at the same time.
We selected a Sony XAV-AX7000 CarPlay and Android Auto unit to replace his factory radio in the dash. This high-power radio has a real amplifier inside that supplies 45 watts of power to the speakers.
We chose Blam 200RS component speakers and made custom composite mounts to hold the 8″ woofers in the doors and another set of custom mounts to hold the tweeters. We placed all of these speakers in the factory mounting locations. Our technicians installed a dual USB port in the center console to replace the original power socket.
The combination of the new speakers and new high-power Sony radio dramatically improved the vehicle’s sound quality and volume, and gave the client the technology upgrade the car needed.
