A client from Westminster came to Westminster Speed & Sound for a 2006 Dodge Ram CarPlay system to upgrade the truck’s technology. After looking over the vehicle with him and understanding his needs, we suggested the JVC KW-V820BT double din touchscreen unit.
As many people already know, the Ram dash isn’t big enough to hold a double din unit unless it came from the factory with the Dodge navigation system. Our team has a solution to modify the dash opening, giving our clients many more options when it comes to changing the car stereo system.
What we like about the JVC unit is the integrated Apple CarPlay, giving the client easy access to his iPhone music, texting, navigation, reminder and Internet radio. Almost all of the operation is done via voice control, giving him a safe way to harness the power of his smartphone while driving. Bluetooth hands-free control and wireless music streaming is also on tap, making this a well-rounded unit. In the future, he can add a backup camera or SiriusXM, or upgrade the sound system, so future expandability is great.
As you can see in the pictures, the final product looks right at home in the dash. The client was thrilled with how it looked, and appreciated all the new technology.
