A longtime client was here at Westminster Speed and Sound to have the windows tinted on his 2024 Ford F-150. During the visit, a conversation about audio system upgrades took place. One of our team members started talking through ideas to improve the audio system’s quality, and the topic of bass came up quickly. The client mentioned the lack of bass in the current setup, and we agreed. At that point, we walked him over to our display of custom enclosures we build in-house for trucks, and it was love at first sight. He landed on our Stage 2 enclosure, which has an F-150 logo embossed on the front and color-coordinated piping trim around the outside.
The model he chose holds a pair of Helix IKS12 12-inch subwoofers in a down-firing configuration. As we continued to talk, he expressed a desire to improve the quality of the rest of the system in the future, so expandability was important. A Wavtech Link1000.1mini amp was chosen to power the subs, and a bass knob was flushed into the lower pocket of the center console, per the client’s request. The composite amp rack was designed to securely hold the amp behind the rear seat and utilized factory mounting locations. It will also hold his amplified DSP (Digital Signal Processor) when it is time for round two.
As you can see in the final pics, the enclosure looks like a factory option, as does the amplifier. When the client came to pick up his truck, he looked on with approval as we showed him the work we’d performed, but it was all smiles when he finally cranked it up. The truck now has bass with real authority. Now, when a bass note hits, you can feel it, drawing you into the music.
