Have you ever wondered why you spend tens or maybe even hundreds of thousands of dollars of your hard earned money on an RV only to find that the electronics in it are decades behind what you already own in your home or car? So did we. So we sent Mark Miller, our owner on a several month quest to investigate this market. Mark is an avid RV'er himself, owning everything from a pop-up and 5th wheel to a Class C motorhome and recently a Class A diesel motorhome. What Mark found is best described in his own words" I have been selling and installing mobile electronics in cars and trucks for over fifteen years. And when I got into the RV world I just paid little attention to the fact that RV's have poor electronics in them. All this came to a head for me when I was considering upgrading to a Class A diesel. So I went on a quest for information that has taken me basically a year to complete. And here is what I found. Any RV you buy up to around 300k, that's right 300k, comes with very, and I mean very basic electronics in it. How about buying a motorhome with a satellite "ready" radio and then not seeing anywhere on the option list to actually buy the satellite radio tuner? Confusing isn't it? So I talked to several dealers, and then I talked to multiple motorhome manufacturers, and I found a common theme. "No, we don't offer that. We have considered it, but haven't done anything about it." I was amazed at the things that we consider basic to be relatively unavailable in the RV's many of us own or want to own. Let's go over this checklist of common things available in your vehicles you drive on a daily basis and I will compare it with what comes in an RV, and now what I have in my RV.
